Working half way round the world and in a different time zone might present insurmountable challenges for some software suppliers, but not for Business Micros, which is continuing its success story ‘down under’.

The most recent visit by Overseas Development Manager Nick Bailey has brought the total number of fabricators in Australia now using Business Micros’ Evolution software to 20, and they are all signed up to contracted support packages.

Nick Bailey says that the distance and time difference are actually quite easy to manage since so much of the software is installed and updated remotely.

He says:  “After an initial face to face meeting, customers in Australia are quite comfortable working with us remotely. They know that we have the resources and expertise in our support team to be able to handle just about any enquiry they can throw at us at any time of day and of course they have the added reassurance that the software is reliable and easy to use anyway.”

Nick visits Business Micros’ Australian customers regularly and also liaises with key industry figures in Australia representing machinery, profile and hardware companies.

In fact, he is helping the company to build such a strong reputation across Australia’s growing PVC-U sector that Evolution is rapidly becoming the number one software choice.

This was demonstrated when Business Micros was contacted directly by fast growing aluminium and PVC-U fabricator Ecoline Windows in New South Wales who wanted Evolution software to link with an Elumatec SBZ140 cutting and prepping centre
and an E155 automatic saw.

Ecoline had already contacted several other Australian based software companies but without success.

In contrast, Nick Bailey was able to complete the Evolution installation during his visit with the help and support of the Business Micros’ programming team back in the UK and at sister company Business Micros (Aluminium).

Nick said:  “At Ecoline, we showed that we have the expertise and the resources to compete head on with the established Australian
providers and outperform them in terms of programming expertise and customer service.  It was a real team effort and demonstrated once again our commitment to this market.”
