Subframes UK is the biggest supplier of welded and mechanically jointed cavity closers in the country, manufacturing a huge and diverse range in its 30,000 sq ft factory, near Alfreton in Derbyshire.

It is no ordinary window fabricator, so unsurprisingly has no ordinary software requirement. It now has an entirely bespoke version of the Business Micros EvoNET business management software in place, created by the team at Business Micros to suit exactly how Subframes UK’s ordering, manufacturing and delivery operations work.

The two companies joined forces back in 2015 when Subframes UK purchased the first Haffner Murat machining centre in the UK and needed a software partner which had done its homework and had all the necessary links in place within its Evolution system.

Since then, Business Micros has worked closely with Subframes UK to analyse its very specific requirements and adapt the EvoNET software which sits on the Evolution platform so that it optimises the efficiency of Subframe UK’s entire operation.

Now, for example, Subframes UK has a custom PreOrder screen within EvoNET, which accommodates the vast range of cavity closers in its range for all makes and styles of doors and windows and for brick and block, timber frame, or any other build type.

It also has custom Production Planning to track production down seven different production lines and custom Despatch Planning so that it can plan and track even partial deliveries to ongoing sites.

Working so closely with Business Micros on implementing a bespoke software solution has enabled Subframes UK to get maximum benefit from its investment. Managing Director Jayne Ryde commented: “We thought that the original EvoNET software we purchased was working well for us, but it was only when we got the team from Business Micros involved in customising and adapting the software that we saw just how powerful it could be.

“It’s making a big difference to our efficiency and to our responsiveness – we can now track every single item we manufacture from the point of order to the point of delivery, identifying any issues before they become problems and keeping our customers even better informed.”

Business Micros offers a range of customisation services on its software – working in partnership with customers so that the software meets their specific and ongoing requirements.
